Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia PDO: a family’s passion and tradition
For over 40 years, the Bertolani family has been producing Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia PDO with dedication, following legacy artisanal tradition and in compliance with the ABTRE Consortium's production specifications.
A story of quality, deep love for our land and authentic flavours, carried forward through generations.

The legacy of papà Igio
A story in every barrel, a memory in every drop.
Our adventure starts in 1984 when our father Dionigio “Igio” Bertolani begins to produce Traditional Balsamic Vinegar in the attic of our home in Scandiano, in the heart of the Emilia region. What started as a personal passion soon became a treasured family emblem: every new set of barrels carried a special meaning, such as the birth of a grandchild, enriching the tradition with a unique emotional value. Our vinegar cellar is not only a production center, but also a place of memories and connections. Today, we three siblings continue our father’s dream with dedication, preserving a tradition that blends family, passion, and artisanal excellence.

At the very heart of our cellar
The Bertolani vinegar cellar now features 100 barrels of premium woods such as Oak, Chestnut, Juniper, Cherry, Mulberry, Acacia and Ash.
Here, boiled must from local grapes ages slowly to turn into superior quality Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia PDO. In compliance with the ABTRE Consortium's production specifications, we guarantee an authentic product, with relevant certification and distinctive taste.
